Dart Board

The other day I was hanging the dart board that I received at Christmas time in my new home. This is the first time this board has been used since it has been in my poseesion.

I put the screws in the wall according to the instructions. The top screw went in 65.75 inches above the floor and the bottom one went in 50.75 inches above the floor. Unfortunately I didn't look at the other measurement (the one that really counts). The center of the bullseye should be 5 feet, 8 inches above the floor.

Do the math. If the top screw (which is close to the top of the board) is 65.75 inches (or 5 feet 5.75 inches) above the floor there is no way that the bullseye could be 5 feet 8 inches above the floor unless you live in a land that has some sort of metric feet that are exactly 10 inches long. This is what I had. A bullseye that was 58 inches above the floor. Exactly 10 inches too low.

It was then a simple matter of raising the screws another 10 inches each. The board is at the appropriate height and I won the first 4 games of 301 we played that evening.
